Job Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Real Estate team. This is a unique opportunity for a talented individual to utilize their accounting skills in a vibrant, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, providing expert support in handling complex financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.
2. Performing month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
3. Analyzing and reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts.
4. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring they are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
5. Assisting with annual audits, providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation.
6. Maintaining and improving processes and controls.
7. Working closely with other departments to understand business transactions, ensuring accounting records are accurately maintained.
8. Managing accounting aspects related to real estate transactions, including acquisition, disposition, and lease accounting.
9. Identifying opportunities for process improvements to accelerate close and reporting processes.
10. Providing technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all company entities.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Senior Accountant, the candidate must possess the following:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in Real Estate.
3. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
4. Proficient in account reconciliation and journal entries.
5. Experience in real estate accounting is a plus.
6. Demonstrated ability to handle month-end close procedures.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
10. Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
13. CPA certification is a plus.
