Role Description:
In the role of a Senior IFRS Accountant (internally known as, Senior Accountant – IFRS Accounting), you will be part of a robust team dedicated to Safety National’s core values while executing the day-to-day financial and accounting needs of the company. You will work closely with the Manager of IFRS Accounting, and other seasoned leaders internally and externally on IFRS related projects. Your contributions of helping our organization manage and comply with International Financial Reporting Standards and subsequent IFRS reporting will be felt throughout Safety National, as well as up to our parent company.
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Senior IFRS Accountant will include ensuring that financial reporting requirements under IFRS are met with accuracy and timeliness, while working with consultants and internal auditors to develop processes and controls for the IFRS reporting process. Additionally you will be responsible for actively participating in the communications between Safety National, external consultants, RSL, DFG and Tokio Marine personnel to obtain a clear and concise message with regard to needs and deliverables.
You will also be assigned various tasks such as, assisting in the preparation of assigned schedules required for the quarterly and annual fillings, supplements and schedules required for GAAP, JGAAP and IFRS reporting through the year. Preparing various journal entries, reconciliations, reports and financial statements during the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, as well as researching and documenting policy decisions applicable to Safety National transactions with regard to international accounting standards considering all guidance provided by external consultants.
The ideal candidate is someone with at least two years of Public or Private accounting experience, with a keen eye to detail, and positive attitude. Insurance knowledge is a plus. Some of the essential skills required of you in this role are, good communication skills, leadership skills and the ability to stay organized while working on multiple tasks.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Required Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of experience in the insurance industry or pertinent accounting experience
- Prior experience in a corporate setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Good communication skills and leadership skills
- Organized with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- The ability to maintain consistent and predictable attendance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the insurance industry
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
- Big Four Public Accounting experience
- CPA designation

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
