The Impact You Will Have
This position is responsible for supporting all accounting activities associated with the close and consolidation of the Companys financial statements for the North American entities of the AzC business unit for our foreign-based parent. Prepares the IFRS and Statutory financial statements, including audited financial statements, for a group of insurance and non-insurance affiliates. Reviews and ensures adherence to IFRS and Statutory accounting policies and monitors company processes in support of the close. Completes project work as assigned.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
• Prepares monthly techncial close entries on an IFRS basis, including completion of ECCS submissions to AzC. Monitor changes to IFRS reporting requirements and ensure compliance with accounting policy.
• Prepare quarterly and annual Statutory schedules for multiple legal entities. Schedule F penalty calculation and mitigation efforts to minimize for annual reporting.
• Complete reconciliations between IFRS and Statutory reporting.
• Drafts Footnote disclosures and management discussions and analysis for regulatory reporting
• Actively participates in daily close stand up team meetings, self monitoring of tasks completion and assists in monitoring timeliness of close processes and identifying items for discussion or resolution.
• Completes monthly account reconiliations.
• Responds to state inquiries about financial results and coordinates state examinations of the insurance companies as needed.
• Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements.
What You'll Bring to the Role
• 3-5 years experience in Financial Statement preparation
• 3-5 years experience in relevant insurance accounting experience, including knowledge of US statutory and GAAP accounting principles. Knowledge of IFRS is a plus
• Knowledge of IFRS/Statutory Accounting, with an emphasis on financial reporting
• Knowledge of insurance accounting principles, especially for property and casualty companies
• Experience with SAP/BW/Cognos and proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Data Quality and Reporting: Ensuring compliance of closing, reporting with internal & external requirements
• Accounting, Finance or Business degree
• CPA Preferred
The annualized base pay range for this role is $62,045 - $105,345. The annual base salary range represents a Chicago market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
