The Senior Accountant will play an important role on the Accounting, Reporting and Controllership team within Ginkgo's Finance department. You will report to the Director, External Reporting, and your primary responsibilities will include preparing accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with SEC regulations and accounting for Ginkgo's investment portfolio and other financial instruments.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with SEC regulations (Forms 10-Q and 10-K)
- Prepare the cash flow statement, equity roll forward and earnings per share calculations
- Assist in the preparation of financial information for earnings releases and investor presentations
- Prepare audit-ready supporting documentation for all financial information disclosed in quarterly reports
- Complete GAAP disclosure checklists associated with quarterly reports
- Reconcile and eliminate intercompany transactions
- Prepare recurring and non-recurring fair value measurements of various asset and liability balances including loans and notes receivable, non-cash consideration received from customers and contingent consideration liabilities associated with mergers and acquisitions
- Review third-party valuation reports of assets and liabilities as well as inputs used in the fair value measurements of financial statement line items
- Prepare journal entries associated with fair value measurements
- Prepare reconciliations of various general ledger accounts, primarily for investments and contingent consideration liabilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with investment companies to facilitate the acquisition of accurate and timely financial data as well as other qualitative information
- Perform investment impairment analysis by reviewing investee financial data and qualitative information gathered
- Analyze and prepare quarterly balance sheet and income statement account variances
- Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide audit support for responsible areas and resolve any internal control items as needed
- Consistently document and maintain internal control environment
- Ensure adherence to pertinent regulatory requirements and to departmental policies, practices and procedures
- Perform all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years professional accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations
- Superb attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task between core responsibilities
- Able to succeed in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Capabilities and Experience
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
- NetSuite, Wdesk, Blackline experience preferred
- "Big 4" work experience preferred
Total compensation for this role is market driven, with a starting salary of $75K +, as well as company stock awards. Base pay is ultimately determined based on a candidate's skills, expertise, and experience.
