Form of work***This position will be filled in either Chicago, IL or Toronto, Canada*** Position Summary North America Controllership is looking for a Senior Accountant to support the Fixed Assets Accounting team. Reporting to the Manager of Fixed Assets Accounting, this team member will be responsible for the management of our fixed asset activities, the reporting and reconciliation of applicable fixed asset related accounts, as well as coordination of the capitalization of projects and interest. This role will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with the North American capital project teams in order to develop a thorough understanding about critical projects and investments.
Key Responsibilities Responsible for the monthly accounting close of the fixed asset system including reconciliations and applicable postings within the general ledger system Work closely and communicate with internal teams to keep track of Fixed Assets, facilities, and the status of capital projects. Perform accounting activities related to capital project management including setup, monitoring, capitalizing projects and related interest Work closely with Accenture Fixed Assets outsourced staff (India) - provide training and support for them to process fixed asset and capital project transactions accurately and timely Assist with consolidation and tracking of the annual physical inventory of Fixed Assets across all facilities Evaluate and monitor Cloud/SAAS projects from design, go-live, and amortization of long-term and short-term costs Ensure accurate reporting including tax requirements, cost and accumulated depreciation Support all financial-related audits including compliance, client, internal/external audits and SOX Assist with identifying and implementing department process improvements Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned, or directed Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) 2+ years of related accounting experience / SEC and US GAAP knowledge Ability to effectively lead, manage, and prioritize multiple projects, while operating in a fast-paced, complex, global organization Curiosity, great attitude, passion, and learning agility Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Highly conscientious and proactively seeks to add value Detail oriented and focused Optimistic attitude and diligent problem-solver Advanced abilities in Excel (Knowledge of Power Query /Dashboard preferred) Advanced abilities in PowerPoint Deck creation and presentation Technology savvy with demonstrated ability to learn systems and processes quickly SAP experience a plus
