Seeking Senior Associate for Accounting Position at Investment Firm
Qualifications / Responsibilities:
- Investment Company accounting experience required or strongly desired;
- Accounting degree, B.S. or equivalent, required; CPA or masters degree is a plus;
- 2 years minimum public accounting experience preferred, not required, with substantial investment company experience;
- Familiarity with master/feeder fund structure is helpful;
- Experience with preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements;
- Candidate must be highly detailed oriented and committed to accuracy;
- Self-motivated and willing to work long hours when required;
- Candidate must have solid Excel skills and maintain meticulous and well-organized files (macro skills a plus, but not required);
- Candidate will coordinate with auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit engagement;
- Familiarity with accounting concepts including: ASC-325-40, Beneficial Interest in Securitized Financial Assets (effective yield accounting); ASC-820, Fair Value Measurement and Disclosure; consolidation concepts under ASC Topic 946-810.
- Prepare ad hoc projects for senior management;
- Reconcile the fund’s books and records on a monthly and/or quarterly basis;
- Strong communication skills and time management skills;
- Candidate will report directly to the more senior group members and will periodically present to the CFO, COO and CEO;
- Position is in-person, 5 days a week in the Greenwich, CT offices, with no remote option.
