ABOUT THIS POSITION
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance Team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and providing explanations for budget variances.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records by performing regular audits and reconciliations of accounts.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support decision-making processes.
- Maintain fixed asset records and reconcile fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.
- Prepare and file various tax returns, including sales tax and property tax filings.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as needed.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
- Stay up-to-date on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields required.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite).
- 5 years or more of related experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
