In 2023, as in every year, multiple Super Bowl commercials featured APM music content. In addition, APM tracks have been sampled by the likes of Jay-Z, Dr Dre, Nas, Drake, MF Doom, and many others. The APM NFT series (a cyclical, limited offering of music collectibles), offered via Dapper Labs, typically sells out within minutes.

The Role

Partnering with the Senior Finance Manager and team, the Senior Accountant will work on the development, interpretation, and implementation of complex financial and accounting concepts, financial planning and internal controls. This person will develop financial reports, support the monthly and quarterly accounting close process, and will work closely with other team members to build accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. This person will also have the opportunity to implement new processes in order to help the team work more seamlessly and efficiently.

This is a Hybrid role and will work out of the centrally located Hollywood office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Lunch is provided in the kitchen on Tuesdays, and snacks and parking are also provided in the pet friendly office (with great views)!

The Responsibilities

• Facilitate and complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures.
• Prepare and review various journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile revenue reported in various systems.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements.
• Maintain adequate internal controls within the accounting processes to ensure well documented, accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Analyze monthly general ledger account activity, journal entries, and variances to forecast.
• Review, track and report monthly capex spend and WIP.
• Assist in preparation of audit work papers for year-end audits with external auditors.
• Prepare AE packages each month reflecting revenue and sales incentive payouts
• Assist in developing policies and operational procedures.
• Manage collections process, supervise collections specialist and prepare AR Aging reporting to ensure past due balances remain up to date.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Qualifications

• Strong understanding of GAAP and full Accounting Cycle.
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required.
• Must be software savvy and able to reconcile data between multiple systems.
• Advanced Excel skills i.e. vlookups, pivots, sumifs, etc.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
• Flexible, strategic team player with high integrity and ethical standards, who is also able and willing to be extremely hands-on.
• Exposure or use of Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
• Bachelors in Accounting/Finance.
