The Position
Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
The Department of Administration's Division of Human Resources Management (DHRM) is recruiting to fill a Human Resources Analyst II position within Agency Human Resource Services (AHRS). This position will be located in Las Vegas, Nevada and act as the lead of leave programs for the multiple agencies served by AHRS.
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, this position is responsible for managing the FMLA and ADA requests of over 3,000 employees, as well as state paid family leave, CAT leave, and military leave. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of federal leave policies and programs, as well as federal and state laws and regulations governing employee rights and procedures pertaining to leave management. This position will be exposed to sensitive medical material and must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee matters. The incumbent will interview employees; communicate clearly and effectively with the leadership of multiple agencies; effectively interact with all levels of employees and agency staff; apply methods of research and analysis to employee matters; interpret and apply provisions of federal law and Nevada statutes, regulations, and policies; use independent judgment to evaluate complex issues and recommend solutions; supervise a team of Human Resource Technicians; and support the Human Resources Officer with statewide specialized programs. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
