Senior Accountant

About the Role: The Senior Accountant is responsible for many of the daily tasks involving General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions, including month-end close, account reconciliation and variance analysis. The Senior Accountant must be analytical and detailed-oriented while also being responsible for internal controls as well as audit coordination. This position reports to the VP of Finance & Accounting.

• Month-End Close

• Prepare and post necessary adjusting journal entries to reflect accurate financial information.
• Ensure proper documentation and justification for all journal entries.

• Account Reconciliation:

• Oversee the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
• Conduct regular audits of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Variance Analysis

• Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide detailed explanations for significant discrepancies.
• Work with relevant departments to understand and address any unexpected fluctuations.

• Internal Controls:

• Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies.

• Audit Coordination:

• Serve as a point of contact for external auditors during annual audits.
• Prepare audit schedules and support documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial principles, and internal controls.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and intermediate Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
