Job Description
BTX is looking for a Senior Accountant to fill a lead position in managing accounting at our headquarters in Dallas, TX. This position requires managing daily activities in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, as well as Accounting Control and oversight. This position will require a strong background in Accounting, specifically in a manufacturing/fabrication and inventory capacities. This candidate will need to separate operating divisions consolidated under one team. Accuracy, urgency, and consistency are absolutely imperative to ensure the timely and proper management of the company structure, and the decision making for the organization.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following:
Oversee all Accounting activities to ensure absolute timeliness, accuracy, and compliance of records
Performing accounting tasks including AP/AR, journal entries and account reconciliations.
Perform monthly closing activities including preparation of monthly P&L, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account analysis
REgularly reports major business figures including standard KPI's to management of the respective business
Identify and report on financial performance deviations on a monthly basis
Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to operations management
Prepare and edit monthly and quarterly reports
Prepare Intercompany reconciliation and monitor intercompany accounts payable/receivable
Assist with gathering data for both internal and external audit request
Book-keeping and preparing financial statements as required
Handling local, state, and federal tax requirements
Working with management on additional projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Minimum of 6 years’ experience.
Prior experience working with multi-state sales, use and property taxes required.
Proven experience of accounting in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of variance entries and analysis, inventory flow and analysis,
Proven ability to perform month end close duties (with oversight but clear demonstration of independent analysis and problem solving
Must be able to collaborate and build positive relationships with other teams within Finance cross-functionally outside Finance to effectively make recommendations, implement process improvements
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Articulate and effective verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external customers.
Sound organizational skills: planning, expediting, prioritizing and coordinating.
