Role Description:
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering a world-class wealth management experience for Farther advisors and clients. We are looking for a seasoned accounting professional to join our team as a Senior Accountant. As a foundational member of the Finance team, this role will report to the Director of Finance and will own: accounting, and payables. This person will assist to build the accounting and control function, develop how we present our financial statements, implement new ERP software, implement accounting principles with regards to revenue and cost recognition as we expand our product set. As a member of Farther's Centralize Finance team, this is an opportunity to have a huge impact - not just on the company, but on the entire wealthtech industry.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with month-end closing tasks, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
* Develop and maintain company accounting policies and procedures.
* Stay current with the latest accounting principles and compliance standards.
* Run Accounts Payable
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree
* At least 4 years of accounting, finance, or other relevant experience
* CPA
Preferred Qualifications
* NetSuite experience
* Financial Services experience or audit of financial services firms is a big plus
* Operating experience as a Senior Accountant reporting to a Controller
* Experience with or interest in learning about accounting principles in the banking/financial services sector
* Audit of financial services firms is a big plus
