Are you a seasoned accounting professional with a passion for healthcare? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical role in overseeing the accuracy and integrity of our financial activities, while contributing your expertise to ensure our healthcare organization operates efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
-Lead and oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
-Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and healthcare-specific regulations.
-Perform in-depth variance analyses to identify and understand financial trends and deviations from budget.
-Manage and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and mentorship towards their professional development.
-Partner with department heads and senior management to analyze financial data, interpret results, and provide insights to support informed decision-making.
-Stay up-to-date on evolving healthcare accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines.
-Contribute to the development and implementation of internal control procedures to safeguard the organizations financial assets and mitigate risks.
-Prepare and support the external audit process by providing timely and accurate information to auditors.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
-Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the healthcare industry
-Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
-In-depth knowledge of GAAP and healthcare accounting principles and practices
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
-Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
-Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
-Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
