Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Audits technical reviews from physical audits. Examines/audits records to ensure that calculations of earned premium for risks are accurate.
- Validates that correct classes are being applied and in accordance with company procedures by reviewing financial records and other relevant materials.
- Prepares self-audits to go out to insureds and monitors the return and completeness of incoming self-audits. Interacts with customers to answer questions and encourage the return of completed audits.
- Reviews results of audits with producers, underwriters, insureds, and Premium Audit leadership.
- Identifies opportunities to resolve discrepancies.
- Serves as initial audit dispute review. Works to resolve disputed items.
- Handles and clears bureau inquiries.
- Reviews physical audits to vendors and monitors the quality and timeliness of the vendor's work.
- Communicates with vendors regarding delinquent audits.
- Prepares management reports and other analysis to ensure the quality and timeliness of audits being received.
- Reconciles invoices from vendors.
- May perform telephone audits.
- Provides effective Customer Service throughout the life cycle of Premium Audit functions.
- Maintains current knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to jurisdictions and ensures correct and consistent application.
- Provides guidance and assistance to lower-level positions. May assist in training new employees.
- May perform in-person policyholder audit as requested by Premium Audit Management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Field of Study: Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
Experience: Generally, 3 to 6 years of related experience. Associates in Premium Audit Program (APA) certification preferred.
