Senior Accountant
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full-time, accounting-related experience. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience with automated financial management systems. Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel to include the use of advanced formulas. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software (i.e., PeopleSoft or Oracle). Relational database knowledge. Higher Education experience.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Senior Accountant will be a key resource for Stakeholders in the day-to-day review of financial data. Stakeholders use this data provided to help make decisions, measure economic performance, and plan costs. This position is also responsible for processing transactions consistent with SUNY policy and accounting principles. Be a resource to the organization regarding State translations and guidelines. Perform complex and more analytical accounting functions, reconciliation, and financial analysis. Provide insight on past trends and guide the department with business decisions. Be proactive and anticipate issues and concerns that could result in problems.

Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,026 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.

SUNY implemented a hybrid telecommuting pilot program. This position has been approved to participate in the pilot, which allows for up to 5 remote days per pay period.
