Senior Accountant

Team Elmer's, an employee-owned heavy construction company, is comprised of five divisions - asphalt, excavation, concrete, aggregate, and crane and rigging. Our Traverse City, Michigan-based company proudly employs more than 500 skilled professionals and operates out of 15 Michigan locations.
Team Elmer's seeks to fill an opening for a Senior Accountant. This position is responsible for approval and reconciliation of most transactions affecting equipment, fuel and depreciation.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily
  Review equipment accounts payable batches, review fuel transactions
  
• Monthly
  Allocate fuel, depreciation and equipment rentals to correct departments
  
• Annually
  Complete personal property tax returns, reconcile fixed asset roll forward
  
• As Needed
  Account for equipment sales and purchases, file transactions with SOS, renew license plates, determine when repairs and maintenance transactions need to be capitalized, various state and federal reporting, complete new asset folders, assist controller and CFO and cover other accounting positions
  
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelors in accounting or business with two years prior experience in fix asset management
