Job Purpose
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing daily transaction processing, assisting with Accounting's monthly close process, and assisting with the internal and external audit processes.
Essential Job Functions (Duties/Responsibilities)
The Senior Accountant will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Support month-end close activities
- Produce monthly balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries
- Prepare internal reports provided to senior management
- Coordinate with other internal departments to help facilitate flow of work
- Assist with providing information to internal and external auditors to ensure compliance
- Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts and reconciling entries
- Prepare various disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings
- Assist in the processing and/or review of daily cash transactions
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience: 2 years of accounting experience; real estate or mortgage related experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end close process
- Attention to detail and accuracy with very high standards for excellence
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. offers a competitive base salary and discretionary bonus. The annual base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the course of the year. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
