Job Title: Daycare Director

We are a small, woman and minority-owned childcare center in the Chicago area looking to hire an enthusiastic and dedicated Director . We pride ourselves on professionalism and excellence, with 25 years in business. Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Daycare Director to lead our childcare center with enthusiasm, professionalism, and dedication. As the Director of our center, you will serve as a cornerstone, offering guidance, support, and expertise to both parents and teachers alike. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our school. Reporting directly to the owner, you will work closely with them to uphold our standards of quality and innovation in childcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:
  • Provide visionary leadership to the daycare staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, fun, integrity and communication.
  • Manage and supervise daycare staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Implement all policies and procedures in accordance with the organization’s vision, mission, philosophy, and core values.
  • Childcare Quality Assurance:
  • Maintain high standards of childcare quality, safety, and cleanliness throughout the facility.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor and improve the quality of care and educational programs.
  • Address any issues or concerns related to childcare quality promptly and effectively.
  • Parent Engagement and Enrollment:
  • Manage leads by promptly responding to inquiries, scheduling tours, and providing information about the daycare center's programs and philosophy.
  • Conduct tours for prospective parents, showcasing the facilities, curriculum, and activities while addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Guide parents through the enrollment process, including completing necessary paperwork, explaining policies and procedures, and ensuring a smooth transition for new families.
  • Maintain communication with enrolled families to address their needs, concerns, and feedback, fostering a positive and supportive relationship between the daycare center and parents.
  • Community Engagement:
  • Build positive relationships with parents and families, providing regular communication and opportunities for involvement in the daycare community.
  • Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups to promote the daycare center and its programs.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, licensing requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to licensing, health, safety, and program administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in a daycare or early childhood education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education theories, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, licensing requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for providing high-quality childcare and early education.

All applicants must possess, an AA/BA in Early Childhood Education/Development to qualify for the director position. We strongly prefer 5+ years of management experience in a childcare setting. This position is full-time and is open for immediate start date.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
