Job Description
Spectrum Juvenile Justice Services seeks dedicated candidates to add to its security services. This position serves as a member of the security and safety operations for a highly secure juvenile detention facility for young men and youth between the ages of 12 and 20.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring youth activity, staff access and safety, program intake, and daily patrolling operations. Monitors authorized and unauthorized visitors, youth activities in outdoor recreational areas, building fire safety, and youth travel and transportation. Responds to all crises within and outside the facility grounds.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Valid and unrestricted Michigan Driver's License
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must complete physical exam & TB test
- DHHS Central Registry Clearance
- National Sex Offender Registry Clearance
Job Characteristics
- Full-time
- Afternoons, Nights, and weekend schedules available
- Scheduled 4-day weekend every 3rd week.
- Must complete background and medical clearance, including drug screen
- Located in Highland Park, Michigan

The cognitive-behavioral treatment model is based on current research in adolescent brain development and juvenile justice treatment and includes trauma-focused assessment and treatment. Treatment is guided by a developmentally informed conceptualization of each youth’s risks and needs and utilizes a multi-modal and multi-pronged approach to treatment.
