Qualifications
Required
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
- Six (6) years of progressively more responsible experience in the field of safety and security, some of which includes developing and/or delivering training or performing security assessments.
- Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record.
- Completion of the Federal Emergency Management FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) courses within 60 days of hire.
- Knowledge of practices, procedures, and industry standards related to safety and security.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to school security and incident command.
- Proficiency in the use of technology.
- Skill in technical writing, proofreading, and editing.
- Ability to identify training needs and create specialized training materials.
- Ability to present information and deliver training to diverse groups.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to support the mission of the office.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
- Experience in Security Training and/or security assessments in a K12 environment.
