Security Systems Technician

Midwest Integrated Solutions is looking for an experienced, reliable, and professional Low Voltage Technician to work full time in Illinois and surrounding areas.

Positions are available immediately. We are looking for someone who has a minimum of 5 years’ experience with a systems integrator.

Job Description:

  • Advanced understanding and troubleshooting abilities with CCTV, Access Control, Infant Protection, and Burg Systems.
  • Ability to install, label, test and dress all low voltage cabling for CCTV, Access Control, and other Low Voltage Systems to the MIS standard.
  • Maintains and submits accurate paperwork and documentation of work performed.
  • Programming and testing systems as needed.
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to manage their own schedule.

To qualify for our team, you need:

  • Experience in installing and programming Access Control, CCTV, and alarm systems. Infant protection system experience a plus.
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to obtain a valid PERC (Permanent Employee Registration Card).
  • Knowledge of computer networks, switches, IP addresses, routers, and modems.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Attention to detail and a desire to see the job done right the first time.
  • To be friendly & personable, respond to customer concerns, and enjoy making our customers smile.
  • Ability to follow proper safety techniques.
  • Ability to travel overnight on occasion.
  • Ability to take calls on a rotating schedule.

Wages & Benefits: Pay will be very competitive (depending on experience), paid vacation and personal days, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and AD&D insurance, paid holidays, and 401(k). Use of company vehicle and fuel card. Skills-enhancing training and opportunities for career growth and promotion. In addition, MIS will provide a company phone and laptop.

Our company works Monday thru Friday with a 24 hour a day emergency service to ensure customer satisfaction. We may occasionally require employees to work various evenings and weekends. Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Electronic Trade School training desired.

Physical Requirements of the Position:

  • Skilled in working with hand and power tools.
  • Standing upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Stooping and/or bending spine at the waist.
  • Lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and be comfortable working on step ladders, extension ladders, and power lifts.

Experience:

  • Low voltage industry experience in installing, maintaining, servicing, testing, inspecting, and repairing comparable product lines.
