Security Specialist (Full-Time)

POSITION SUMMARY: Will be responsible for the overall safety of the residents and facilities at the Comanche Nation Residential Treatment Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain structure and order within the Residential Treatment Facility, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Monitor all activities and individuals to safeguard the integrity of the facility and program.
• Perform scheduled and random checks of designated areas throughout the facility to monitor activity and ensure compliance and safety.
• May transport participants to scheduled activities, appointments, etc.
• Record and report any and all rule violations or infractions.
• Provide and document ongoing observation of participants within in their daily surroundings.
• Maintain a calm, non-defensive, supportive attitude towards all participants and staff.
• Meet emergency and crisis demands and a calm, competent, and timely manner.
• Act as a positive role model and mentor for participants, staff, and community members.
• Comply with safe driving practices and conduct regular vehicle operation checks.
• Will be required to work collaboratively with all other Prevention & Recovery programs and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Will report to the Safety & Security Supervisor. This position does not hold supervisory authority.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Minimal lifting up to 25lbs may be required occasionally. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Vision and hearing in the normal range, with or without correction.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Majority of work will be performed in the Residential Treatment Center setting with occasional outreach activities and community events. Primary hours worked will be evenings, overnights, and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must display quality writing ability and communication skills.
• Experience working with Indian Tribes or organizations preferred.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, military, or corrections preferred.
• Preference will be given to Comanche tribal members.
• Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable under the Comanche Nation’s Motor Vehicle policy.
• Will be required to obtain First Aid and CPR training (employer will provide training).
• Must be willing to submit to and pass drug testing; employment will be contingent upon successful completion. 
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation which reflects good moral character.
