Security, Part-Time, Overnight

Union Mission has immediate openings for part-time Security Guards to work overnight at our facilities in Charleston, West Virginia.

Purpose: The Security Guard is responsible for safety and security at Union Mission facilities and acts as a visible deterrent to inappropriate, suspicious, and illegal activities.

Duties:

• Routine patrol of all campuses (both foot and vehicle patrols) and monitor activities on the company's premises regularly to ensure the environment is safe and secure.
• Check and secure all buildings, gates, and facilities at Union Mission campuses.
• Deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional and effective manner.
• Handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
• Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow, or heat.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all matters of Union Mission.
• Conduct initial investigation and documentation of all suspicious and/or crime related incidents and activities.
• Contact and support all law enforcement agencies and emergency personnel called upon for assistance.
• Take appropriate action during emergency situations.
• Conduct inspection of grounds and buildings during routine patrols to determine existing fire hazards, safety issues and immediate maintenance concerns to be reported to Administration.
• Provide detailed reports to on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred.
• Transfer donated items left at dock and parking lot to secure facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Excellent problem-solving skills are a must and should be precise and detailed when deemed necessary.
• Self-starter and the ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests.
• Ability to pass criminal background and DMV checks.
• Office 365 proficiency a plus.
• Detail oriented.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, and kneel.
• Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds.
• Excellent knowledge of security protocols.
• Must be available to work nights and weekends as assigned.
• Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment.

Credentials and Experience:

• Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience performing the duties noted above or equivalent.
• Must have a valid West Virginia driver's license and clean DMV record.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour
