The Security Specialist will provide technical security expertise to support the implementation of an effective global security strategy and program to mitigate risk, safeguard the organization's human assets, intellectual property, integrity, reputation and physical assets to ensure continuity of operations under the leadership of the Senior Global Security Manager. The Security Specialist will also oversee the Global Security Command Center’s monitoring operations in an effort to maximize its effectiveness and response capabilities. Other aspects of the job include web-site development, investigations, administrative security, physical security, personnel security, security education and training, contingency planning, crisis management and emergency preparedness.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and implementation of the BSC security plan that assesses current threats and vulnerabilities, identifies protection goals, objectives, and metrics consistent with corporate strategic objectives, and details the efficient and cost-effective utilization of security resources.
- Assist with physical security programs to minimize risks and potential exposures to employees, venders, and guests by maximizing system efficiencies.
- Enterprise management of the access control and video management systems which will include development and maintenance of SQL databases, custom scripts, automated data flows, software updates and ensuring compliance with BSC IS requirements.
- Enterprise management and assistance of end-user/client based software.
- Operationally oversee the uniformed services team which is assigned to Global Security’s Command Center. Consisting of internal security personnel and/or partners and other vendors, as appropriate. Develop and implement national post orders for uniformed services teams and oversee the account managers training curriculum.
- Assist where needed in coordinating cross functional efforts with Facilities and Real Estate, Legal, Human Resources, Global Compliance, Risk Management, Global Internal Audit, Finance, Information Security to provide thorough analysis of security risks and development of appropriate mitigating strategies.
- Maintain professional relationships with local, state, federal and international law enforcement agencies.
- Carry out and assist team members with other duties or projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree and 3-4 years of experience in a similar position or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
