General Summary of Job Duties: This is a full-time on-site role for a Security Officer. The Security Officer will be responsible for patrolling and monitoring casino property, deterring criminal activity, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the safety and security of guests and employees.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintains a high quality of guest service according to Silverton Be Amazing Service Standards.
- Check for proper identification of a guest appearing to be under the age of 35 years old.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future.
- Patrols lobbies, corridors, and public rooms, confers with management, interviews guests and Team Members, and interrogates individuals to investigate infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalisms, and incidents.
- Patrols public areas to detect fires, hazardous conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
- Warns or ejects troublemakers and cautions careless individuals.
- Obtains assistance for accident victims and reports on accidents.
- Inform staff of the presence of people with questionable reputations.
- Assists management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
- Patrols and observe Team Member service areas, grounds, and public spaces.
- Provide Safe and secure transportation of house monies between points on property.
- Writing detailed reports regarding all incidents concerning matters concerning the company, guest, or Team Members.
- Assistance to guests as requested for information, etc.
- Report unusual incidents to the shift supervisor or manager.
- Provides escort for slot and table games transactions.
- Acquire the knowledge of all warning devices to include but not limited to fire, Haz-mat, and panic alarm.
- Provides independent departmental participation in procedures and transactions affecting the casino and hotel related departments.
- Maintain the security logbook and records, as required.
- The responsibility for all found property is turned to the officer until such property is secured by shift supervisor.
- Responsible for all keys and key logs maintained at the security desk.
- Responsible for notifying of all incidents that occurred on assigned shift are reported to the shift supervisor regardless of perceived importance.
- Attentive to the radio and be alert for any occurrence.
- In extreme emergencies, must be able to “Fireman Carry” full sized adult.
- May encounter a disruptive guest which could result in a physical confrontation where the officer is expected to subdue/detain the individual.
- Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education and Other Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
- A minimum of six (6) months prior Security Officer experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated Security and/or Law Enforcement ability as well as incident investigation skills.
- Demonstrated record of customer relations skills.
- The necessity to write legibly and coherently is required.
- The original statements, reports, logs, and other written material completed by Security personnel are frequently utilized for legal and judicial proceedings which may not accept taped, transcribed, or otherwise translated material.
- Additional or continued educational certificates in related fields.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
