The Security Manager reports to the Director of Security and is responsible for maintaining polices that protect employees and assess risk to company assets; developing polices which are consistent with security best practices and conducts investigations; taking accountability for the security of multiple sites operating on several shifts; supervising activities of 3rd party security service and vendors; ensuring appropriate security coverage and maintaining intrusion detection, CCTV, and access control systems; conducting security audits at ELC and third-party locations; effectively leading by setting an example, building collaborative relationships, championing the Estee Lauder Companies High Touch Leadership Competencies, and ensuring all employees are treated with respect.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Responsible for Security Officers and Security Systems for multiple locations on Long Island and any other sites, as directed. Partner with outside security service providers to optimize effectiveness of systems and manage response to alarms and emergencies. Establish a business partnership with all other departments facilitating the achievement of corporate goals with controlling risk. Oversee contract security staffing ensuring all locations are covered by contract security personnel. Maintain and determine appropriate level of security resources required to meet security program objectives, consistent with budgetary requirements. Conduct on duty/off-duty and weekend inspections of security personnel to ensure policies and procedures are administered, identify potential problems, and recommend solutions.
- Promote an environment which encourages the development and implementation of security best practices. Ensure consistency in the administering of polices across their area of responsibility. Identify security risks and recommend mitigation methods which support security requirements and business needs.
- Review security related invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements. Coordinate security services to support Warehouse Sales, as well as company sponsored events. Monitor prior security related incidents to proactively identify security related issues before they become a significant problem.
- Maintain effective relationships with law enforcement and professional security associations.
- Conduct confidential investigations, as required, and make recommendations for preventive and remedial actions. Assist other Global Security team members as required. Conduct security investigations in coordination with the security vendor, operations management, human resources, local law enforcement and corporate security, as necessary.
- Manage/provide security plans for company special events to control access and protect employees.
- Conduct security policy and awareness education for all employees.
Qualifications - External
- Minimum 5-8 years of Supervisory Related Experience
- Minimum education: Associates Degree
- Driver’s License is required
- Law Enforcement/Military background/CPP preferred
- Flexible to work other shifts and responsive to the needs of the security team while off duty, 24 hours/day and 7 days/week
- Excellent written and verbal communication; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to deliver presentations
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,500 to $135,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
