Security Guard Full-Time And Part-Time

Job Summary

Shift: Part-time and full-time positions available. 3:00pm - 11:00pm or 11:00pm - 7:00am. May be required to work some weekends. Position is temporary for 3-6 months in length

Pay Rate: $14.50 per hour

This position is under the direct supervision of the security supervisor for the assigned shift of the security department and is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assests, personnel, customers, and all visitors.
The Security Guard patrols the building and grounds; investigates and writes incident reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activity, safety hazards, and other security related situations; and assists members of the public and individuals working in the facility.

Essential Duties:

• Performs security patrolls (on-foot)
• Monitor CCTV
• Assist and facilitiate clearing the building quickly in the event of a building evacuation and provide assistance to those who need help in these circumstances
• Protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents
• Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security related situations
• Provides any assistance needed to customers, employees, and visitors following the department's procedures
• Serves as a training officer to new security staff
• May perform duties of a security sergeant during required coverage as assigned and performs other related duties as assigned by a security sergeant, lieutenant, and/or security department manager
• Must be physically able to assist in the case of an emergency.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• 6 months minimum of previous security experience
• Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment, and enforcement procedures
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to pass a background check, upon hire
• Teamwork orientation
• Stress management and composure
• Ethical conduct
• Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal
• A focus on the customer/ client

Preferred Experience:

• Security/ law enforcement experience
