Security Guard

POSITION SUMMARY:

Utilizes a customer friendly manor, ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff through control of entry and patrol and inspection of property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, and other illicit activity. Assist front desk with needs activity.

Inspects identification of persons prior to entering restricted areas. The SECURITY GUARD observes activity at a particular post or posts and reports any unusual activities to the supervisor of other responsible person. Performs routine monitoring and reporting duties and follows specific guidelines for observing and reporting such incidents. Reports malfunctions of equipment that may impact the security and well being of the facility to supervisor and/or facility management. Required to interact with public and other facility staff with courtesy and professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be 18 years of age

2. Must have one (1) year of experience, employed in a security related position.

3. Be capable of working efficiently and effectively at any time of the day or night, including irregular and unscheduled hours, after sufficient rest.

4. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to SOH's Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. Must have a valid NJ license.

Requires sufficient body mobility to accomplish essential functions. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, and kneel with ease. Requires walking and standing often. Requires frequently speaking on the telephone. Able to write legibly and grammatically to convey information. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Communicating fluently and effectively both verbally and in writing in English. Ability to perform HWC techniques. Ability to appropriately interact with all program staff, patients, visitors, attending physicians, and other department representatives.
