Job Description:

Join our team at Joyleaf as a Part-Time Armed Security Guard and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our staff, customers, and assets. Reporting directly to the Security Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment and providing peace of mind for all who enter our premises.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Control access to and throughout the dispensary while maintaining compliance with NJ CRC Adult Use Cannabis rules and regulations.
• Protect employees, customers, property, and proprietary information from harm or misappropriation.
• Greet and welcome all visitors and customers to the dispensary in a professional manner. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with inquiries and addressing any security concerns professionally.
• Maintain visitor and security logs with accuracy and completion.
• Conduct regular patrols inside and outside the retail location to deter unauthorized access and prevent theft or vandalism.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, promptly responding to any security breaches or incidents.
• Maintain a visible and vigilant presence to deter potential threats and ensure the safety of customers and employees.
• Lead with a cool-headed, professional demeanor to diffuse customer or public relation issues swiftly and effectively.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies as needed and assist in investigations if security-related issues arise.
• Follow established protocols for handling emergency situations, including medical emergencies or security breaches.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have an active & current RED SORA card and permit to carry firearm.
• Must have own firearm.
• Must possess a valid Armed Security Guard license issued by the state of New Jersey.
• Previous experience in law enforcement, military, or security-related roles is preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.
• Experience in the cannabis industry is favorable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
• Proficient with computer systems such as Microsoft Suite, email, and surveillance software
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and perform security duties for extended periods.

• Lift and carry objects weighing more than 10 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to exchange accurate information in various customer service and security-related situations.

Description of Work Environment:

• Work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment.
