Job Summary
The Security Guards primary role is to secure the premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a visible presence that enforces safety and security, and ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises.
- Monitor and control entrance and departure of employees and visitors according to prescribed protocol.
- Detect and confront unauthorized persons and violators of security procedures.
- Use radio or other communication devices in a clear and concise manner.
- Presents losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informs violators of policy and procedures.
- Investigates security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior.
- Controls traffic by directing drivers.
- Adhere to all company service and operating standards, informs violators of policy and procedures, and reports violations to the Human Resources Office.
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Respond to emergency situations to provide necessary assistance to employees and authorized visitors.
- Report suspicious activity, criminal behavior, and security breaches.
- Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, patrolling premises regularly, traffic control, and accident investigations.
- Provide excellent customer service.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of state laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of security operations and safety practices
- Working knowledge of enforcement policies and procedures
- CPR/First Aid certified, preferred

Working Environment and Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand and walk for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
