Job Description:
Berry College seeks an organized and efficient secretary who will assist the Department Chair of Kinesiology (in the Charter School of Education and Human Sciences) and the Director of International Experiences with administrative responsibilities, management of budgets, support of meetings, and serving as point of contact for both offices. The ideal candidate will be self-starting, highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and friendly, with knowledge and skill with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and an appreciation of Berry's mission and values.
Kinesiology is a dedicated, collegial five-person department committed to providing applied and experiential learning in the classroom, in the laboratory, and through internships and career-centered student work opportunities.
International Experiences coordinates all aspects of study abroad at Berry College. The office strives to help students to have meaningful experiences abroad, including guiding students through all of the steps, from picking a program to adjusting back to life at Berry after studying abroad.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assist Kinesiology department chair with preparing meeting agenda and minutes, annual faculty evaluations, department annual report, and data collection for institutional and program assessments.
- Providing secretarial support to the department chair and faculty members, which includes (but is not limited to): maintaining records, budgets, databases, edit documents/ draft reports, and attending departmental meetings.
- Facilitate billing and payment processes for study abroad programs and Summer International Programs (SIPs), including monitoring budgets.
- Assist International Experiences with event logistics including making room reservations, helping with setup, helping run events, placing catering orders, picking up and delivering catering orders.
Requirements:
Ideal candidates will have at least four years, combined, of college education and/or experience in an office setting. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
