Primary Purpose: Teaching Secondary Science middle or high school grade students, as assigned by the campus Principal. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; meets the "Highly Qualified" teacher requirement. Certification required.
Knowledge of subjects assigned; general knowledge of curriculum and instruction; ability to instruct students and manage their behavior; strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience: Not a requirement for qualified candidates. Major Responsibilities and Duties: 1.
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. 2.
Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. 3. Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives and methods according to district requirements.
4. Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district. 5.
Keep informed of and comply with state, district and school regulations and policies for documents required. 6. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
7. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
