Secondary Math Teacher Job Description

Charleston Collegiate School is seeking a full-time Math teacher for the 2023-2024 school year to start as soon as possible. Successful candidates will be creative, energetic, and highly skilled teachers who are passionate about student-centered, collaborative, experiential learning. Candidates should also have a proven track record of success teaching all levels of math. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching math through Algebra 2 to high school students and possess the capacity to teach middle school level courses too.

Essential Qualifications:

• Experience with experiential education and project-based learning.
• A positive ‘can-do’ attitude and growth mindset
• A willingness to participate in student-life activities e.g., advisory, club leadership, coaching, after-school programs
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject discipline, e.g., Education or mathematics.
• A minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience
• Ability to teach all levels of mathematics from grades 6 to 12.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Independent school experience
• Advanced degree / postgraduate qualification
• The ability to teach other subject disciplines and elective courses, such as physics or economics
