United Methodist Homes has Charge Nurse Opportunities for LPNs. Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the nursing tasks and activities performed by CNA's and nursing department non-licensed staff. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal and State regulations and laws.

Salary: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of New York.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Working knowledge of pharmacology
- Competent leadership skills
- Adequate problem-solving skills
- Positive interpersonal skills in working with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Awareness of environmental safety
- Ability to plan, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, policies and procedures for quality care.
- Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and ability to incorporate them into nursing practice.
- Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job
Responsibilities:
- Completes resident data collection and nursing assessments within scope of practice
- Identifies and documents resident problems, symptoms, and changes in condition and takes appropriate action
- Establishes and follows a plan of care based on resident needs.
- Implements nursing care, including administering medications and performing medical treatments and nursing procedures within scope of practice
- Monitors the effectiveness and appropriateness of the plan of care, ensuring change is made to the plan of care/make change when necessary within scope of practice.
- Provides leadership to nursing personnel assigned to unit/shift
- Monitors the implementation of the plan of care for assigned residents. Supervises the tasks and activities of the Certified Nursing Assistants and nursing non-licensed staff.
- Communicates effectively with others (residents, families, visitors, and co-workers)
- Have knowledge of and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
- Identifies learning needs of residents/families and family caregivers and helps to develop and implement a teaching plan
- Identifies learning needs of residents/families and family caregivers and helps to develop and implement a teaching plan within scope of practice
- Documents information in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident and the resident’s response to the care
- Understands and follows all HIPAA guidelines
