- 2 years of experience in working in a camp or recreation environment.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience or aptitude to work closely with children in a positive, supportive manner.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
- Ability to lead participants safely and effectively in activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures.
- Ability to exhibit strong leadership skills and possess a passion for member service by building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence.
- Supervise counselors, including correcting inappropriate behavior, and ensure campers are always supervised.
- Review and develop lesson plans with staff to ensure fun and quality.
- Supervise and evaluate program facilitation and provide feedback to staff.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement unit activities, including Overnight Camp-outs, unit activities/games, and campfire programs.
- Communicate with staff regularly via informal and formal check-ins.
- Support and continue staff development through weekly written check-ins and goal setting.
