POSITION SUMMARY:
The After-School Group Leader will work respectfully with children, families, schools and community in a strengths model approach and provide quality programming, a safe place, and strong connections with the schools. The Group Leader will implement age-appropriate activities for the children enrolled in the after-school program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement programs appropriate for school age groups.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the After-School Group Leaders, staff, and youth, parents, and teachers.
- Recruit for the program.
- Integrate program with the Family Center.
- Participate in reciprocal relationships based on respect.
- Provide resources and referrals.
- Advocate for families and children.
- Be a strong member of the team.
- Maintain records and correspondence with teachers and parents.
- Provide accurate data for the Synergy data system.
- Help with center maintenance, clean up after the after-school program activities and insure space is ready for next day's use.
- 12. Knowledge of the school system operations.
- Assist with homework.
1. High School Diploma/GED required with some experience working with children and schools.
2. The incumbent must have a valid driver's license and access to an automobile.
3. Current Act 33/151, Act 34 and FBI Clearances are required.
4. Ability to work flexible hours and weekends when needed.
5. Basic level expertise in Microsoft Office products.
6. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, organizational and recordkeeping skills.
7. Excellent organizational skills, initiative, and ability to work with limited resources.
8. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
9. Ability to comply with AIU Policies and Procedures.
