Our Company:
North Carolina FC Youth (NCFC Youth) is a non-profit youth soccer organization home to more than 16,000 players (ages 2.5-18) and their families each year. As part of our operation, NCFC Youth employs approximately 60 full-time staff, hires 200+ seasonal coaches, and manages more than 1,000 volunteer coaches to support year-round programming through seasonal league play, camps, and tournaments. NCFC Youth offers 6 core programs to meet the different needs and skill levels of youth in our community, in addition to offering outreach programs, hosting tournaments, and providing camps and supplemental training throughout the year.
In collaboration with the professional North Carolina Football Club, NCFC Youth is the largest youth-to-professional club in the country. Since 1974, we have been living our mission of providing positive, high quality soccer opportunities at all levels of play for youth and their families and serving as a valuable community partner.
The Position:
The seasonal Training Program Coach must be able to plan, lead and implement soccer activities and fun games in a safe and inclusive environment.
Qualifications/Responsibilities:

  • Must be at least 16 years old and enjoy working with young children.
  • Previous playing experience (club, college) and/or coaching experience with young children (other camps, clinics, babysitting, volunteer, etc) preferred.
  • Must be energetic, patient, and reliable.
  • Must be able to perform a variety of tasks outside in various climates.
  • Must be able to enforce health and safety guidelines.
  • Must be open to feedback, willing to learn, and able to work closely with other coaches.

Commitment & Compensation:
  • Sessions are held on a weekly basis for 6-10 weeks, depending on the program. Ideally, coaches can commit to working a full season.
  • Coaches are compensated on a per session basis and rate varies based on ability and experience.

Available Programs:
  • Kickstarters - an introductory Recreation program for our youngest players aged 2½ to 4. Sessions are held on Saturday mornings for 50 mins. Season runs 6 weeks, from March 19-April 30.
  • Juniors Development Program (JDP) - Supplemental Training Program held on Wednesday evenings for 75 mins. Season runs 8 weeks, Feb 16-April 6
  • Skill Building Series - Supplemental Training Program for players of all levels, born 2013 and older. Held on Wednesday and Friday evenings for 75 mins. Season runs for 8 weeks, from Feb 23/25-April 20/22.
  • Elite Technique - Supplemental Training Program for Challenge and Classic players born 2012 and older. Held on Sunday evenings for 75 mins. Season runs from Feb 20-May 1.

Background Requirements:
  • Requires a background check and risk management training prior to working.
