The successful applicant will operate a variety of mowing equipment including edgers, string trimmers, blowers and other small power equipment but also must be able to operate a farm tractor with bush-hog. Work is accomplished under the direction of Maintenance Technicians.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training in landscape maintenance and performance of heavy manual work is desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Virginia Driver's License is required. This position performs semi-skilled work and manual tasks such as shoveling, raking and sweeping involved with street maintenance.
Equipment used may include dump truck, heavy and light equipment and various hand tools. Makes repairs to streets, alleys, road shoulders, medians, curbs and sidewalks. Maintain accurate log sheets, checklists and pre-trip sheets.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training in street maintenance, driving/operating a dump truck and the performance of heavy manual labor; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires possession of a valid Virginia Driver's License. Class B Commercial Driver's License is a plus.
Basic Work Zone Traffic Control and or Flagger certification is a plus.
