Seasonal Leasing & Marketing Assistants – $19/hour

Introduction: Chicago Apartment Place, Inc. is a property management company located in the Lakeview area on the north side of Chicago. We are looking for Seasonal Leasing and Marketing Assistantsto join our team for the upcoming rental season. The position will pay $19/hour, based on experience.

Summary: These seasonal positions run approximately from March through September. The Leasing and Marketing Assistants are responsible for actively marketing our listings and providing excellent customer service to tenants and prospective tenants throughout the application and leasing process. Primary responsibilities include various leasing and marketing tasks and assisting with incoming calls, texts, emails, and visitors, while providing clerical and administrative support to the leasing and marketing department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leasing and Marketing–

  • Answer multiple phone lines and handle calls;
  • Check and respond to voicemails and emails;
  • Set up leasing appointments via phone, text, and email;
  • Advertise our listings on all our marketing platforms and assist with marketing strategies;
  • Prepare, process, complete paperwork, leases and enter these into our systems;
  • Assist prospective tenants throughout the application and lease signing process;
  • Assist with our move-out and move-in procedures and inspections;
  • Prepare and maintain content for our social media;
  • Inspect properties and apartments for rent;
  • Show apartments to prospective renters;
  • Distribute flyers throughout our properties;
  • Change locks and prepare keys;
  • General office tasks such as filing, scanning, and organizing; and
  • Perform other tasks and run errands as needed.

Tenant Services –

  • Tenant communication via phone, text or email as needed;
  • Assist with turnover-related tasks such as coordinating walk-throughs, preparing and collecting checklists, locks and keys; and
  • Assist tenants with maintenance requests and other matters as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned by office management and other staff.

Work Environment:

Open loft office environment where problem-solving takes place on a regular basis in collaboration with other departments. Noise level in the office may range from moderate to loud.

This position is fully in office and is not remote. General daily duties occur at our main office. Other duties such as walkthroughs of apartments with tenants, and other assignments, may occur outside of the office, generally at the various properties under our management.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • During the rental season (April 30 to September 1), for purposes of managing apartment turnovers, must have the ability to work evening hours on the last day of the month and work Saturday or Sunday if the last or first day of the month falls on a weekend;
  • Ability to perform site visits and run errands which may require travel outside of the office, street parking, going up and down stairs, and being exposed to construction work and varying weather conditions;
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for use during all work hours, valid driver’s license, auto insurance and a cell phone;
  • Must be able to operate all office equipment including computers, printers, check scanner, key cutting machine, and others as needed;
  • Neat, clean, and professional throughout the workday including whenever on any of the properties under management, while representing the company, and at company events; and
  • Must treat all persons with integrity, kindness, and respect.

Education and Experience:

  • Highly proficient with computers and Microsoft Office software;
  • Experience handling a large volume of calls and emails;
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience preferred; and
  • Real Estate or Sales background preferred.
