Seasonal Bakery Associate

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bakery Assistant during our busy farmers market season, May through September. As a Bakery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our bakery operations and ensuring customer satisfaction. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for baking and a desire to learn and grow in the industry.

Responsibilities
- Package, label, and pack baked goods in preparation for farmers markets -Assist in the preparation and production of bakery items, including measuring ingredients, mixing dough, and operating baking equipment
- Follow recipes and instructions to ensure consistent quality and taste of baked goods
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and restocking supplies
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their bakery orders, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of orders
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe working environment

Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or working in a kitchen environment is preferred
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating quantities
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Familiarity with retail math for handling cash transactions at the POS

Please note that this position may require standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. This is a seasonal position from May to September. Some flexibility with school conflicts at the beginning and end of the season may be appropriate for candidates who are students, parents, or teachers.
