Job Purpose and Reporting Structure: Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Searcher/Examiner will search and examine title to properties to insure clear title to a property. The Searcher/Examiner will use in-house software application, external websites and courthouse documents and other methods as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Search and Examine title to properties to insure clear title to a property
Examiner/Searcher
- Search public records to determine legal condition of property title
- Summarize recorded documents which affect title
- Use public records systems to retrieve additional documentation to complete underwriter and
- Map legal descriptions of properties as required
- Maintain records and electronic filing system to facilitate easy retrieval of information
- Main contact for amendments, adjustments to current policies requested by customers
Produce Title Commitments
- Review and prepare title search reports and their documentation in a timely and thorough manner.
- Prepare products for customers utilizing in-house software application(s)
- Verify that information in the title search and accompanying documentation is accurate and complete
- Utilize existing technology to send and deliver title products accurately and on-time to internal/external customers
- Resolve any issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in title documentation
Customer Service
- Customer service orientation: ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Maintain high level of customer service by being proactive in communication with customers and public record keeping agencies
Work Environment:
- Work Schedule, as position requires
- Travel as necessary for training purposes (est. 10%)

- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, experience with Qualia preferred
- Title License - obtain within six months of commencement of employment
- Six hours of continued education annually, certification and licensing in title examination
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Title search experience preferred but not required. We will train the right person!
