Job Summary
The alterations department is responsible for accurately and efficiently altering uniforms for various first responder groups and organizations within public safety. The primary responsibility of a sewing specialist is to repair, alter and customize all types of uniforms. The ideal candidate will be able to use their technical skills and attention to detail to meet our client’s needs.
Responsibilities
● Communicates with customers by interacting and offering recommendations for
customer needs
● Performing alterations for client specifications or industry requirements
● Measuring skills required to accurately measure customers for their uniform
needs
● Accurately and timely finish work within production deadlines
● Pant stripping preferred
Requirements
● 4+ years of sewing/seamstress experience
● Industrial sewing skills on industrial machines preferred
● Knowledge of industry measuring tools, sewing tools, and fabric manipulations
● Attention to detail
● Must be able to read and comprehend written/verbal orders
● Must work on site
● Experience with industry uniforms
● Ability to work independently and work well with others
● Formal training in fashion design or related training preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
