• Doing everything possible to ensure delighting customers
• Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers
• Guiding the team on how to get the most of out of self-organization
• Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks
• Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
• Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
• Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
• Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
• Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
• Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
• Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
• Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
• Constantly assessing the Agile/Scrum Maturity of the team and providing recommendations, coaching and further training/tactics as needed to increase delivery. This includes utilizing and applying in-depth knowledge of Agile principles, practices, and methodologies to achieve valuable outcomes
• Supports Agile delivery including cross-team delivery, dependency management, risk mitigation, impediment resolution and coaching work breakdown. Encourages built in quality throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Manages stakeholder and leadership expectations and assists with internal and external communication regarding target scope, schedule and budget. Ensures alignment and transparency as needed.
• Enables a generative culture, fostering an environment that values collaboration, innovation, incremental delivery, and continuous improvement. Encourages best practices in DevOps, including automation.

Skills:

• First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I).
• At least three years of total experience as a Scrum Master, or Agile Coach role in Agile delivery, this experience should include a history of multiple successful Agile engagements that yielded business results. Experience should highlight a passion for Agile maturity including involvement in Agile communities, mentoring/coaching others, and continuous improvement.
• Advanced understanding of Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
• Advanced understanding of Agile values, principles and techniques/practices that drive their adoption.
• *Ability and experience with facilitating backlog refinement with Product Owner and Scrum Team.
• Cultivating a high performing team using servant leadership; Fostering a trusting and safe environment with an emphasis on team building, innovation, empowerment, and problem solving
• Experience in Agile planning/management software, especially Microsoft Azure DevOps, is preferred
• Systems Thinking; Knowledge and experience in IT processes/methodologies, including the software development lifecycle. Business Acumen / Utility Knowledge is desired, but not required.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills are required.
• Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
• Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
• Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)

Preferred Skills/Experience (Any of these is a plus)

• Second level Scrum Master certification (CSP, PSM II)
• Experience playing the Scrum Master role for 4-6 years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
• Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban
• Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
• Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team

Education:

• A bachelor's degree is required; preferred field of study in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or other IT-related area, Business or related.
• Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
