Job Description:
Vital DiagnosTech is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Scrub Nurse to join a phenomenal surgical team in Jackson, Wyoming. As a Scrub Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. We are looking for a Scrub RN with experience scrubbing in major surgeries, including Ortho, General Surgery, OB/GYN etc. Shift is 3x12's days. $10,000 sign-on bonus, $2,000 relocation stipend, AND $1,350/month for temporary housing!!! Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile.
- Assist surgeons and surgical team members with donning sterile attire and maintaining a sterile field throughout procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate counts of surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before, during, and after procedures to prevent retained items.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist anesthesia providers with patient positioning, airway management, and administration of medications as needed.
- Collaborate with circulating nurses, anesthesia providers, and surgical technicians to ensure patient safety and optimize surgical outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team to anticipate needs and facilitate efficient workflow.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families before, during, and after surgical procedures, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Document all perioperative activities accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Participate in departmental meetings, in-services, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery and promote a culture of safety and excellence.
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of Wyoming or compact state reciprocity.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience working as a Scrub Nurse in a perioperative setting, preferably in a hospital or surgical center.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and perioperative nursing principles.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing patient needs and surgical schedules.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care with a focus on safety, compassion, and excellence.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support 24/7 surgical services.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure during high-stress situations.
