PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, support, and provide clear direction to the Content Development and Instructional Design teams.
- Champion the intentional framing of all courses and Learning materials with a Biblical Worldview.
- Lead, support, and provide clear direction for the ongoing development, assessment, and mentorship of facilitators.
- Align team member and colleague expectations and goals with SCOPE strategic initiatives.
- Build positive and productive working relationships with Subject Matter Experts, Instructional Design Team, Facilitators, Information Technology, and Marketing.
- Foster a culture of trust, transparency, collaboration, and innovation between and among team members and colleagues that fuels individual and team performance.
- Research and remain current on student, competitor, and market demands, trends, and issues of non-traditional students (and e-learning practices specifically) in the net-revenue space.
- Innovatively improve all aspects of the content development and delivery process, including facilitation, using proven change management systems.
- Develop and deploy Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to quantify and communicate progress and results.
- Develop assessment processes to quantify and communicate to academic constituents the level of customer satisfaction achieved.
- Efficiently and effectively contribute to budgetary planning for Content Development.
- Compare and contrast SCOPE offerings against local and national competitors.
- Proactively create, publish, and maintain the content development calendar to team members and colleagues.
- Provide innovative ideas and feedback to the Vice Provost for Strategic Initiatives on content development and deployment.
- Seek and secure Subject Matter Experts and Adjunct Professors for future Learning Solutions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Terminal degree (PhD, EdD, DBA, other) – or equivalent as appropriate
- Five or more years of related experience (higher education, non-traditional students, e-Learning Solutions, managing others, etc.)
- Demonstrated online teaching experience at a two-year and/or four-year college or university
- Knowledge of a wide range of educational technologies and adult learning pedagogies
- Management / leadership experience within the post-traditional and online learner audience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (or comparable); Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheets or other relevant software
- Proficient with industry LMS (Canvas)
- Excellent oral, visual, and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills to demonstrate ability to collaborate with all levels of the university internal and external communities
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills
- Strong initiative; ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Ability to manage complex tasks/projects (that require analytical and research skills) in a timely manner with a high degree of quality
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and manage within a rapidly changing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills; flexible, resourceful, and creative
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work with frequent interruptions
- Agile learning design experience or exposure
PREFERRED COMPETENCES:
- Demonstrated experience and familiarity with the implementation, maintenance, and operation of Canvas (or equivalent LMS)
- Demonstrated experience with compliance and quality standards, and higher education accreditation requirements related to online learning programs
