Job description

About the Department

Dicerna, a Novo Nordisk company, is focused on driving innovation in RNAi (ribonucleic acid interference) to selectively target and silence genes that cause or contribute to disease. Our proprietary GalXC™ and GalXC-Plus™ RNAi technologies have the potential to address conditions that are difficult or impossible to treat with other modalities. Established as a Transformational Research Unit (TRU) following Novo Nordisk’s acquisition of Dicerna Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in December 2021, the Dicerna TRU is a unique new organization within Novo Nordisk that brings together the best of both worlds – the agility, collaborative pioneering spirit and calculated risk-taking profile of a biotech along with the scale, resources and capabilities of a global leader in drug development. With approximately 200 researchers, scientists, drug developers and operational staff, we are a team of inventive and entrepreneurial thinkers pushing the boundaries of science to create and drive new RNAi-based therapies for both rare and more prevalent diseases from the bench to the clinic. Together, we are driving change. Are you ready to make a difference?

The Position

We are seeking an experienced bioanalytical scientist specializing in LC-MS based pharmacokinetics (PK), biodistribution analysis, metabolite identification and/or biomarker assay development to join the Bioanalytical Chemistry team. You will help to further develop and implement our bioanalytical and biomarker strategies to assist in the optimization of our GalXC™ and GalXC-Plus™ platforms. It is highly desired that you will have experience in applying diverse mass spectrometric workflows such as high-resolution and triple quadrupole mass spectrometry to characterize and quantify drug and its metabolites via in vitro and in vivo assays. Experience in the bioanalysis and quantitation of pharmaceuticals in biological matrices and familiarity with oligonucleotide bioanalysis would be a major advantage. “

Relationships

This position reports to the Director, Bioanalytical Chemistry.

Essential Functions

  • Develop advanced and robust LC-MS analytical methods for the bioanalysis of different molecular formats such as small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides, and/or proteins.
  • Conduct metabolic profiling and stability assessment of oligonucleotides in cellular, sub-cellular and biological tissue extracts
  • Review and interpret complex LC-MS-based data sets and articulate findings to project teams
  • Maintain/document records of all experiments, including QC review data, experimental results, and reports as appropriate into electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Able to review and translate complex LC-MS based metabolism data sets and articulate findings to project teams
  • Contribute to the team’s knowledge through updating scientific literature and discussions
  • Maintain and troubleshoot lab instruments such as biological sample extraction systems, HPLC, and LC-MS
