Legend Biotech is seeking a Scientist as part of the R&D team based in Piscataway. NJ. 

Role Overview

Expertise in immunology and oncology is required. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual who enjoys having broad responsibilities. You thrive in a collaborative work environment and are skilled at advancing multiple projects concurrently. Knowledge of state-of-art allo-cell therapy and its applications. As part of the Legend Biotech R&D team, you will be responsible for timely execution of projects in our discovery pipeline that complement our existing programs.

Key Responsibilities  

• Independent thinkers to shape project definition and scope
• Develop functional assays to screen and identify candidates which can prevent host immune response
• Conduct experiments to address key issues in immune evasion and graft-rejection
• Maintain an accurate and updated laboratory notebook
• Maintain compliance with GLP and EHS protocols
• Prepare and present reports, publications, oral presentations and patent application documents

• Ph.D. in immunology, oncology or related fields
• 3+ years of experience in the field of immunotherapy, cell therapy, immunology or oncology
• Strong experience with GVHD, graft rejection or transplant related subjects
• Deep understanding of human immunology, especially T cells and NK cells
• Extensive experience in cellular and immune cell-based analytics and assay development including, but not limited to advanced multi-parameter flow-cytometry, cell labeling, mixed lymphocyte reactions, cell proliferation assays, cytotoxicity assays, cytokine release ELISA/MSD multiplex assays
• Extensive experienceof viral/non-viral delivery methods
• Experience of immune cell isolation, activation and expansion
• Deep knowledge of immunology and immunotherapy
• Independently plan and timely execution of research programs
• Proficiency in allo-platform establishment
• Track record of productivity evidenced by publications or patents
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to operate independently and in a team environment
• Cell therapy and immune-oncology experience is preferred
