Scientist II (Analytical Chemist)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Scientist II (Analytical Chemist), are to:
- Researches, designs and conducts experiments such as proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics to advance early and late phase R&D projects;
- Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots a wide variety of LC-MS and GC-MS instruments, maintaining detailed record keeping and required documentation;
- Effectively communicates and interprets the results of experiments, progress of method development and sample analysis to partners and key stakeholders;
- Solves complex problems that require original thinking, deductive reasoning and the application of broad scientific principles;
- Prioritizes and coordinates work within a large team while providing training/mentorship to team members and fostering team-based approach to deliver impactful solutions, and may assume project leadership and/or supervisory functions;
- Demonstrates a sustained high level of technical skill and achievement;
- Keeps abreast of new science and technological development and exploits them to continuously improve functional area capabilities;
- Publishes and presents research outcome internally and externally;
- Commits to safety goals and adherences to safety protocols and best practices.

Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. OR Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree;
- Proficiency in developing and validating quantitative LC-MS and GC-MS methods;
- Experience applying proteomics, metabolomics, and/or lipidomics for target discovery/verification or mode of action determination;
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five or more years of relevant research experience in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Cell Biology, Plant Biology, Biochemical Engineering, or related fields (to include academic and industrial experience post-undergraduate);
- Experience applying Python, R and/or multivariate analysis for data processing.
