Position
As a Kansas City Behavioral Health Holdco Van Driver you will be operating a School Van over designated routes and transporting school aged individuals. In addition, you may transport KCBHH clients for various charter trips. As a driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of clients.
Hours
Part time (Work Split Shift 2 hours morning, 2 hours afternoon)
Full time (Work cross divisional as a Paraprofessional/Van Driver)
Key Accountabilities
- Follow safety rules as students board and exit van or cross streets near stops
- Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
- Check the condition of a vehicle's equipment to ensure that everything is in working order
- Maintain order among pupils during trips to ensure safety
- Pick up and drop off students at regularly scheduled locations, following strict time schedules
Requirements
Education and Experience
- High School/GED required.
- 1-4 years' experience as a driver
License Requirements
- Must have a safe and valid driver's license according to the school regulations.
- MO Residents, minimum of Class E License with S Endorsement, partial reimbursement offered if need to obtain
- KS Residents, CDL Licensure
Training and Specific Skills and Abilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to drive when in the field.
- Must satisfactorily complete all required training.
- Be able to pass all background checks, which may include physical, drug screening and licensure.
Working Conditions
The job operates almost solely within a vehicle as either a driver or the driver's aide. This position requires the ability to drive up to 50 miles day or night on all types of roads and in all types of weather. This position is exposed to noise, vibrations, and vehicle fumes.
