Combo School Bus Driver & Custodian Or Food Service Delivery

The Festus School District has immediate openings for:
Combo Bus Driver & Custodian / Combo Bus Driver & Food Delivery

Qualifications: Minimum of HS Diploma. MUST have Class B CDL, Passenger Endorsement, School Bus Endorsement, & Air Brake Endorsement to be considered – NO EXCEPTIONS

Rate of Pay: $134 per day minimum. Pay rate dependent upon prior experience. Benefits included (Retirement, Health & Dental Insurance)

Hours: Bus driver = 6:30am – 8:45 & 2:00 – 4:30 and Custodian/Delivery = 10:30-1:30, Monday - Friday

Deadline: Open until filled. ALL Positions begin asap

Duties and Responsibilities:

Bus Driver:

· Transport students of all ages to and from school and extra-curricular activities in a safe and timely manner.

· Follow bus routes as written and approved by the Director of Transportation.

· Manage student behavior and maintain discipline on the bus.

· Keep two-way radio on at all times that the bus is in operation.

· Assist administrative personnel, teachers, and parents in promoting a positive relationship between the school, students, and parents.

· Conduct and log pre-trip inspections to check for cleanliness, safety, proper mechanical functions and adequate fuel level.

· Conduct trip inspections after each run to check for vandalism, cleanliness, lost articles and sleeping children.

· Report mechanical problems to mechanics or director of transportation.

· Observe rules, regulations and responsibilities contained in board policies and transportation handbook.

· Attend meetings in accordance with departmental requirements.

· Complete all required forms completely and promptly.

· Report changes in route conditions to the transportation director as soon as possible.

· Maintain a good record of attendance.

· Maintain the confidentiality of students’ discipline and medical records.

· Keep the bus clean.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation

Custodian:

· Will assist cafeteria staff with wiping down tables between lunch shifts.

• Will assist cafeteria staff with taking out trash as needed during lunches. Appx 10:30-12:30
• First 10 min check bathrooms at Cafeteria clean up debris restock as needed
• During lunch appx 10 min into shift check can levels empty as needed (this will be the task for remainder of the lunch)
• In between shifts keep walkways clear of debris
• Will assist day custodian with cleaning cafeteria after lunches are finished Appx 12:30-1:30
• Cleaning cafe tables Daily
• Sweeping the floor Daily
• Cleaning the windows Weekly
• Cleaning marks/dirt etc off of walls Weekly
• Vacuuming rugs Daily
• As time allows
• Perform routine cleaning at entrances, common areas and bathrooms
• Address outdoor needs ie: Weeds, trash cans, police all grounds around buildings and parking lots.
• Other duties as assigned

Food Delivery:

· Daily duties include, but not limited to:

o Rotating stock by date

o Keeping inventory organized

o Cleaning storeroom; sweeping the floors and dusting the shelves

o Delivering food to appropriate buildings in a timely manner

o Working with Cafeteria Managers to check in their deliveries and put product away in designated areas

o Notify Director of any unavailable items that are being requested by the Managers

· Specific Daily duties:

o Monday

§ Organize storeroom and rotate stock to prepare for Kohl Wholesale delivery on Tuesday

§ Put paper order away if needed

o Tuesday

§ Deliver Intermediate/Middle storeroom order

§ Other daily tasks as assigned (see above list)

o Wednesday

§ Deliver Lower Cafeteria/HS storeroom order

§ Other daily tasks as assigned (see above list)

o Thursday

§ Organize breakfast and lunch freezers

§ Check dated items and rotate stock in freezers

§ Other daily tasks as assigned (see above list)

o Friday

§ Deliver Intermediate storeroom order

§ Other daily tasks as assigned (see above list)

· Other duties as assigned
